As a participant of Electronic Home Monitoring, you will be required to abide by the following rules, regulations, and lawful directives given by the Electronic Home Monitoring Officer, a Probation Officer, or Ohio Alcohol Monitoring Systems (Ohio AMS). Violation of these rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action up to and including incarceration.
- You will be issued a non-removable bracelet to be worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This device will monitor you 24/7 for compliance with court orders. You may also be issued other equipment that supports monitoring and communication associated with the program.
- Weekly Schedules, Meetings and Movement in the Community
- If you are granted privileges for work, you will need to submit your work schedule weekly to housearrest@OhioAMS.com
- Weekly schedules may only be changed for the following reasons:
- Emergency (Medical): You must contact Ohio AMS as soon as possible at 216-264-1067 to explain the nature of the problem. An emergency must be an accident, injury, or illness, and must involve you or someone in your immediate family. You will need to get verification of the medical emergency
- Change in work hours: If your work hours change for any reason, you must contact Ohio AMS prior to leaving your residence. If you are held over at work, call Ohio AMS as soon as you are aware you will be held over. You must provide verification from your employer. If you leave a message, please speak clearly and leave a detailed message. You must leave your name, the date and time you are calling, and your reason for calling.
- Self Employed: If you are self-employed, you will need to provide a weekly work schedule that is the same every week for the duration of the electronic home monitoring
- School: If you attend school, you must provide a copy of your current class schedule/registration to be able to attend class. You must provide proof of any time that is needed to be on campus outside of normal class instruction (labs, group work, etc.)
- Unemployed: If you are unemployed, you will be allowed to seek work a total of ten hours a week. Your hours must be approved in advance.
- If you are living alone or have no other way to obtain food or personal items, you will be allowed to obtain these items once a week for a maximum of two hours but it must be scheduled in advance. You are on house arrest, so you will not be allowed to go to the gym, run errands, get your haircut, attend family gatherings, etc. You will not be allowed “free time” to do what you want.
- While on EHM, you will be required to maintain an alcohol and drug free status. You may not possess or consume alcohol while on EHM
- While on EHM, any anticipated or sudden changes in your residence must be reported to Probation prior to moving. If the phone number you provided to the EHM officer is no longer working, you MUST immediately contact the EHM officer and provide another number where you can be reached. If at any time, the EHM Officer attempts to contact you and is unable, you will be considered in violation.
- While on EHM, should you fail to return to your residence within the stated time or leave the residence at an invalid time, such action shall be deemed as a violation and an escape warrant may be issued, resulting in your immediate removal from the program and you being placed in jail.
- There is a onetime $50 installation fee for which you will be responsible. This fee will be added to you Court fines and costs.
- There is also a daily monitoring fee of $12 that will be added to you Court fines and costs. You can complete a financial affidavit to determine if you qualify for a fee reduction.
- While on EHM, you release the City of Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Municipal Court of any and all liability and responsibilities for medical care or expenses that may occur while in the program
- If you have any problems with the equipment, and/or have torn or broken straps, it must be reported to the EHM Officer and/or Ohio AMS immediately. Never tamper with the strap or remove the transmitter even if the strap becomes damaged
- Do not call the Clerk’s Office/ Police Department and ask for the EHM office. If you call the EHM Office and do not get the EHM officer in person, please leave a message on the voicemail and your phone call will be returned as soon as possible. Do not repeatedly call and hang up.
- You may get the bracelet wet but do not submerge the bracelet. Therefore, baths, hot tubs, swimming, etc., is prohibited. This may cause damage to the bracelet, for which you then may be responsible.
